As registration opens for spring 2021, it’s hard not to look ahead without the filter of what we have experienced in 2020. This coming spring GLCOF will continue to follow COVID precautions and procedures put into place for fall, modifying as needed based on CDC and state and local guidelines. We thank our coaches, refs, parents and players for taking the safety measures seriously and complying. That willing and determined attitude allowed our safe return to play in the fall and the opportunity to get back on the field with teammates again this spring.
To complete registration, players will need a US Lacrosse number valid through May 31, 2021. If your child’s membership expires before then, you will be prompted to renew during registration at uslacrosse.org. Membership is $30 per year for youth and $35 per year for High School. When asked for home program, choose The Girls Lacrosse Club of Frisco under the letter "T".
Each year we strive to keep our participation fees as low as possible, however, for spring, you will notice a slight increase in registration fees. This increase is mainly a result of us not being able to reach our 2020 fundraising goals due to COVID-19 limitations, as well as for coaching fees. We think you’ll agree that keeping quality coaches only enhances our player’s experience.
All registrations will be due by January 31, 2021. A $50 late fee will be added to all registrations starting January 1, 2021.
As we did for the fall, your spring 2021 registration fees can be paid in full or will allowed to be paid in three (3) installments detailed below. An initial payment will be required upon registration, with a second installment due on January 31, 2021, and a final installment due on February 28, 2021.
Families with two players will receive a $25 sibling discount, three players a $50 discount, and four or more siblings will receive $100 off given at the time of check out.
Refunds for payments already made will not be given for any periods in which the Club, League or any appropriate governmental or health officials mandates or recommends a suspension in practices or games as the result of any pandemic, other outbreak of disease or any other condition or event which adversely impacts any areas in which the Club holds games or practices. If registration was paid in full, you will be refunded for any installment that has not yet become due per the chart above.
The spring registration fee does not include the cost of a uniform; however, all players are required to have a uniform. For the spring season both youth and HS will be able to order your uniforms through our online store. Only new players or players who have outgrown their uniform will need to purchase a uniform. Returning players who register by December 31, 2020 will be assigned their same number from the fall. Late registrants may be assigned a new number.
All new players/late registrants will be assigned a number on the later of January 4th or upon your registration.
Orders placed after December 31 deadline will have a $15 rush fee added and are not guaranteed to be in before the season begins.

Under uniform layers
Since the spring season starts in winter, layers are important! Any color layers are fine for practices. Be warm enough and make sure your daughter’s pinnie and uniform shirt fits over the top layer. For youth games, the approved colors for layers under your uniform are navy, grey, white or black. For high school games, the layers under the uniform must match the uniform being worn for the game (white or black).
PRACTICE / GAMES
Practices for the spring season will begin at different times based on the player’s grade level. Weather permitting, youth teams will practice 2-3 times a week and high school will practice 4-5 times a week. The City of Frisco has not yet allocated our practice and game fields for spring; however, we anticipate practicing at BF Phillips Park and/or Bacchus Park again.
Our goal is for both HS and youth game play to be against the surrounding league teams, however this may be adjusted pending COVID-19 restrictions.
A spring parent meeting will be held in early February. The date, time and location (likely will be virtual again) will be announced early next year. GLCOF will send a separate email about the parent meeting once details are set. At this meeting you will meet your daughter’s coaches and learn more about expectations for the season including COVID protocols (temperature checks, health screenings, mask requirements, return to play etc), practices and games.
For any new families registering, the required equipment to play for GLCOF is a colored mouth guard (clear is not allowed by the league), cleats, lacrosse goggles and a lacrosse stick. For 2021, there is a new requirement for goalie chest protectors. Visit the US Lacrosse website for specifics on this requirement.
if you have any questions about what your daughter needs to play.
For spring team communication you will hear from your age group coordinator (AGC). These amazing volunteers will be introduced during the parent meeting. You will begin to hear from your AGC beginning the week practices start.
High school and 7/8 parents, if you would like your player to receive the emails regarding the league, please be sure to add their player email to their profile during the registration process.
